Guiding Families Through the Medicaid Process

As a Medicaid Navigation Specialist, Isabela prepares, submits, and processes Florida Medicaid applications while guiding families through the documentation and requirements of their case. She helps collect, review, and organize required information, follows up on outstanding items, responds to requests for additional documentation, monitors application progress, and works collaboratively with the Medicaid & More team to help move applications toward approval.

Isabela understands that behind every application is a senior with individual needs, circumstances, preferences, and goals. She approaches each family with patience and compassion, helping them understand what is needed and feel informed and supported throughout the process.

Supporting the Healthcare Journey

One of Isabela's strengths is her ability to communicate with seniors and help families feel organized, informed, and comfortable when important healthcare and legal documents need to be completed. She is skilled in helping families review and coordinate the execution of advance directives and other legal documents, taking the time to help seniors and their families understand the documents and the process so they feel comfortable and confident before signing.

Isabela approaches these conversations with patience, compassion, and respect, helping make what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process easier to understand and navigate. When legal guidance or clarification is needed, she works collaboratively with the appropriate elder law professionals while helping the family coordinate the next steps.

Her support extends beyond Medicaid applications and important documents. Isabela also helps families navigate healthcare and long-term care resources, understand available options, and connect with services that may support a senior's changing needs.

Building Relationships Throughout Central Florida

Isabela plays an important role in building the Medicaid & More presence throughout Central Florida. Drawing on her hospitality background and natural ability to connect with people, she develops meaningful relationships with skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, healthcare professionals, home care providers, and other senior-care organizations and resources throughout the region.

Through her outreach, Isabela educates professionals and families about the Florida Medicaid application process and available resources while identifying opportunities to help seniors and families navigate healthcare and long-term care needs.

These relationships also help strengthen the network of community resources available to Medicaid & More families when their needs extend beyond the Medicaid application.

A Foundation in Senior Care

Isabela is a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) and Home Health Aide (HHA), providing her with additional insight into the needs of older adults, including individuals experiencing cognitive changes or requiring assistance with daily living.

Her dementia training enhances her ability to communicate with seniors and families with patience, empathy, and understanding, particularly when memory loss or cognitive changes are part of their healthcare journey.

A Commitment to Education & Advocacy

Isabela is committed to continuing her education and expanding her knowledge so she can better serve seniors and their families. She is a member of the Florida Chapter of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA), connecting her with a professional community dedicated to education, collaboration, advocacy, and improving quality of life for older adults and their families.

Her commitment to advocacy extends beyond her day-to-day work. In June 2025, Isabela traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the Alzheimer's Impact Movement (AIM) Advocacy Forum, where she advocated on behalf of individuals living with Alzheimer's and other dementias and the families and caregivers who support them.

For Isabela, continuing to learn and advocate means bringing greater knowledge, awareness, and resources back to the seniors, families, professionals, and communities she serves.
